The maintenance of betta fish mainly includes aspects such as water quality management, temperature control, feeding, and disease prevention.

Water Quality Management
Betta fish have relatively high requirements for water quality. The suitable water temperature is between 24-28°C, and the pH value should be maintained between 6.5-7.2. Replace part of the water regularly. Generally, replace 1/3 to 1/2 of the water volume every week to keep the water clean. When changing the water, pay attention that the temperature difference between the new water and the old water should not be too large to avoid irritating the betta fish.
Temperature Control
The suitable water temperature range for betta fish is 20-30°C, and the most suitable water temperature is 24-28°C. If the water temperature is too high or too low, it will affect the health and vitality of betta fish. You can use a heating rod or a thermostat to keep the water temperature stable.
Feeding
Betta fish are omnivorous fish. You can feed them with special betta fish feed, live shrimp, small fish, insects, etc. Feed them 2-3 times a day, and the amount of each feeding should be such that it can be eaten within 5 minutes to avoid water pollution caused by overfeeding.
Disease Prevention and Treatment
Common diseases of betta fish include ichthyophthiriasis (white spot disease), saprolegniasis, etc. Once any abnormal behavior of betta fish is found, isolate and treat them in a timely manner, and adjust the water quality and increase the frequency of water changes. Keeping the fish tank clean and providing a good environment can effectively prevent diseases.
Mixed Cultivation and Reproduction
To avoid fights between betta fish, it is best to keep them separately. If you want to keep them in a mixed tank, you need to choose fish with a gentle temperament and provide enough hiding places and aquatic plants to reduce conflicts. During reproduction, maintain a stable temperature and clean water quality, and set up a special hatching tank for hatching.
