Guppy pregnancy can be determined by a combination of the following characteristics, and it is recommended to observe multiple indicators together:

Key Judgment Indicators
Changes in Abdominal Shape
When viewed from the side, the abdomen takes on a square-like 轮廓 with a pointed front and a broader rear, with the swollen area located in the middle of the body.
When viewed from above, the width of the abdomen exceeds twice that of the head, which is different from the rounded belly shape seen when the fish is full.
Evolution of Gestational Spot Characteristics
In wild-colored female guppies, the gestational spot changes from light black to deep black, while in albino varieties, it appears orange-red.
Before delivery, the gestational spot expands to the area around the genital pore. In transparent varieties, the eyes of the fry can be seen directly.
Abnormal Behavioral Signs
Loss of appetite, hiding among aquatic plants or in corners, slow swimming, and uncoordinated movements.
Some individuals may become restless, attack other fish, or swim up and down frequently.
Auxiliary Judgment Skills
The genital pore protrudes to form a small pointed tip, and the excrement becomes thick and dark in color.
The normal breeding cycle is about 25-28 days, which can be calculated based on the mating time.
The pectoral fins vibrate more frequently, and the mouth opens and closes constantly.
Notes
Symptoms of dropsy (abdominal edema) are characterized by a belly that is wide at the front and narrow at the rear, with the gestational spot shrinking instead.
It is recommended to observe the fish in the morning before feeding to avoid confusion with the state of being full.
If 2-3 signs appear, the fish should be isolated to wait for delivery.
