Animal-based Feeds: Such as small fish, shrimp (like brine shrimp), shellfish, bloodworms, etc., which provide an abundant source of protein. It should be noted that live baits need to be disinfected to avoid carrying parasites.
Specialized Pellet Feeds: Choosing floating feeds makes it easier for Oscars to consume them, and it can also reduce water quality pollution.
Plant-based Supplements: A small amount of vegetables (such as spinach) or algae can be added, but they should not be used as the main food.
Points for Attention:
Overfeeding will lead to the deterioration of water quality, so the feeding amount needs to be controlled (it is advisable to have the fish finish the food within 5 minutes each time).
Regularly clean up the residues and change the water (about 1/4 of the water volume per week) to maintain the stability of the water quality.
