Can Two Female Betta Fish Be Kept Together? It Depends on the Circumstances
Female Chinese Betta Fish
They can usually be kept together, as they have relatively low aggression and share the same environmental requirements (water temperature: 24–27°C, neutral water quality). However, note the following:

Avoid housing them with male bettas, except during the breeding season.
Provide sufficient space and hiding spots (such as aquatic plants or substrate) to reduce conflicts.
Female Thai Betta Fish
Keeping them together carries higher risks:
If they are not from the same brood, the weaker ones (especially those in the egg-carrying stage) may be attacked and killed.
Claims from sellers that they can be kept in groups are mostly misleading; in reality, extreme caution is required if attempting to do so.
General Precautions
When housing multiple female bettas together, choose individuals of similar size and monitor for signs of fighting.
If frequent conflicts are observed, immediately isolate the fish and house them in separate tanks.
