Suitable Water Temperature Range for Betta Fish
Optimal Temperature Ranges

Chinese Betta Fish: For daily care, a temperature range of 22-28℃ is recommended. Among them, the Forktail Betta prefers 25-28℃, while the Roundtail Betta has stronger cold tolerance and can adapt to 20-25℃.
Thai Betta Fish: The temperature must be strictly maintained at 24-27℃. Temperatures below 18℃ may lead to death.
Effects of Temperature
Below 20℃: Metabolism slows down, appetite decreases, and the fish become prone to infections like water mold or ich (white spot disease).
Above 30℃: Dissolved oxygen levels drop sharply, which may cause oxygen deprivation or tank-jumping behavior.
Seasonal and Special Period Management
Winter: A heater is required to keep the temperature above 22℃, and the daily temperature fluctuation should not exceed 3℃.
Breeding Period: Adjust the water temperature to 26-28℃, which can improve the success rate of spawning.
Precautions
Variety Differences: Albino varieties (such as White Rabbit Betta) need to be kept in a stable temperature range of 25-28℃ to avoid stress.
Monitoring Tools: It is recommended to use a temperature-controlled heater with an alarm function to ensure the water temperature fluctuation is ≤1℃.
