Betta fish eggs hatching

The following points need to be noted during the hatching process of betta fish eggs:

Observe the color change of the fish eggs: Normal betta fish eggs appear as small, transparent granules. If the fish eggs turn white, swell up, and develop something like moldy fuzz, it is likely that the eggs have gone bad.

Hatching time: Betta fish eggs usually hatch within two to three days. If the temperature is high and the eggs turn white and develop mold, they should be immediately removed from the fish tank to prevent the water quality from deteriorating. Fish eggs that have not hatched after more than 3 days may not have been successfully fertilized and will not be able to hatch into fry.

Shallow water hatching: Betta fish eggs are not suitable for hatching in deep water. It is recommended to use water that is 5mm to 1cm deep. If the water is too deep, the fish eggs are prone to spoilage.

Hatching environment: Use a shallow dish to hold the fish eggs and add water from the original tank. In this way, the fry can be easily hatched.

Newly hatched fry: Newly hatched fry will not swim immediately and usually remain motionless. They need a period of three to five days to adapt before they can start eating. Therefore, newly hatched fry do not need to be fed immediately. It is okay to start feeding egg yolk water or brine shrimp on the third day.

The specific steps for hatching betta fish eggs are as follows:

Select high-quality male and female betta fish: Generally speaking, choosing a male betta fish that looks strong and a female betta fish that is carrying eggs can increase the success rate of hatching.

Prepare the hatching environment: Put some foam in the hatching tank to increase the adhesion of the bubbles and reduce the possibility of the bubbles dissipating. Let the male and female betta fish "court" for about a day. When the male fish starts to blow bubbles, put the female fish into the hatching tank.

Remove the female fish in a timely manner: After the female fish lays eggs, remove the female fish promptly to avoid affecting the hatching process.

Maintain a quiet environment: Place the "maternity ward" in a quiet place and cover it with a paper bag, leaving only a small hole for observation to reduce the disturbance to the male betta fish.

Be patient and wait: Wait patiently for 4 to 5 days, and the betta fish eggs will complete the hatching process.

Prepare the first food: On the third day of hatching, start preparing the first food for the fry (such as brine shrimp).
