Betta Fish Feeding Frequency Guide
1. Fry Stage (0-6 Months)
Feeding Frequency: 2-3 times per day. Each feeding should be an amount that the fry can finish within 5-10 minutes.

Feed Amount: 5-7 pellets per feeding. Choose specialized small-pellet feed for fry.
Notes: Fry have a fast metabolism; feed small amounts frequently to promote growth and avoid leftover food polluting the water.
2. Adult Stage (6+ Months)
Feeding Frequency: 1 time per day. In winter, this can be reduced to once every 3-4 days.
Feed Amount: Approximately 10 pellets per feeding, ideally finished within 5 minutes.
Notes: Overfeeding can easily lead to obesity and water quality deterioration. Adjust the amount based on the fish's condition.
3. Handling Special Situations
Starvation Tolerance: Betta fish have strong starvation tolerance. They won't die if not fed for a short period (within 1 week), but long-term starvation will cause dull body color and reduced vitality.
Water Quality Management: Clean up leftover food after feeding. Maintain a water temperature of 24-27℃ and a pH level of 6.5-7.2.
4. Feeding Tips
Timing: It is recommended to feed in the morning or before 3 PM to avoid slowed metabolism at night.
Observation & Adjustment: If the fish has a poor appetite, you can pause feeding for 1-2 days.
Summary
Fry require frequent feeding in small amounts, while adult fish need regular feeding in fixed quantities. The core principles are "feed until 70% full" and "water quality first".
